GE Energy offers the GE 600 kW solar inverter. This inverter can be used as a basic power block within a solar power system or can be aggrouped to support a solar electric power plant. This inverter incorporates two level power conversion method which allows the inverter to output at a consistent 480 Vac level.
This consistent voltage supply reduces the AC level current and eliminates the requirement for a transitional transformer. This arrangement allows increased conversion competence when equated with a single stage power conversion system. This 600 kW solar inverter incorporates a strong outdoor-rated enclosure and performs efficiently even in extreme weather conditions.
The incorporated SolarRIDE-THRU technology lets the inverters to remain connected even during grid disturbances. This new technology includes low voltage ride through (LVRT), zero voltage ride through (ZVRT) and high voltage ride through (HVRT) potentials. The ride through features allows continuous power supply even during grid disturbances. The SolarFREE reactive power feature included in the module allows controlled reactive power during all operating conditions. This feature supplies reactive power for nonstop voltage support and regulation even when the active power is not generated thus eliminating the need for additional grid reinforcements during the absence of solar light.
The height x width x depth measurements of each 600 kW Solar Inverter offered by GE Energy is 2350 mm x 3500 mm x 1300 mm and weighs 3175 kg. Each inverter incorporates a password protected web based human machine interface (HMI) for startup, shutdown functions, adjusting of set points, alarm and repairs for easy local or remote operation. The other capabilities of HMI include live data trends, control status indication, alarm and incident reporting and I/O data. The GE 600 kW inverter is certified for meeting the applicable UL and CSA standards.
