Power Integrations Installs 600 kW Solar Power to Energize its Head Quarters

Power Integrations has solar powered its head office  in Edenvale Technology Park at San Jose at a cost of $3.6 million. The company has arranged for a special event to celebrate the occasion.

The photovoltaic solar power installation that is used for powering up one of the two buildings of Power Integrations at San Jose, utilized more than 2,500 solar panels, over a parking area of 44,448 square feet,  is one of the largest facilities to produce 600 kW in the Silicon Valley area.  It accommodates more than 100 workers and incorporates a chip testing facility, and the power is utilized to illuminate the car parking area of the company’s head office. The solar installations also provide overhead shade for 280 parking spots. The installation is expected offset more than 10,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions within a span of 25 years. The design system was carried out by Solar Technologies of Santa Cruz. The construction was supervised by Atlas Pellizzari Electric and Legacy Roofing was involved in completing the roof installations.

Chuck Reed, Mayor for the City of San Jose complimented Power Integrations, for switching to clean tech powering. He added by the way of extensive solar power installations, the Power Integrations help San Jose to accomplish its goals of green vision.
