Nordex offers the Nordex N90 2.5 mW wind turbine. This wind turbine can be deployed in high wind as well as in low wind locations. The upwind type of aerodynamic rotor utilized in this turbine measures 90 m in diameter and incorporates three blades to offer a swept area of 6,362 m².
The blades used in this wind turbine are made of high-quality glass fibre reinforced polyester. The rotor utilizes a hub, slewing rings and drives to adjust the speed of the rotor blades and a pitch system to control and optimize the power output. The Nordex N90 2.5 mW wind turbine comprise a double-fed asynchronous generator with a power of 2500 kW, a voltage of 660 V, a frequency of 50 to 60 Hz and a max speed range of 740-1300 rpm.
The two-stage planetary gearbox incorporated in the Nordex N90 wind turbine is offered with one spur-gear stage or a differential gear box. The estimated output power of this gear box is 2,775 kW. This wind turbine is offered in hub heights measuring 75, 80, 100 and 120 m for low wind speed locations and 70 and 80 m for high wind speed locations. For efficient working of the wind turbine oil-based and water-based cooling and filtration systems are installed for cooling the gearbox, generator and turbine converters.
The nacelle yaw system installed in the wind turbine is adjusted by actively engaging four geared motors to stop the wind turbine during the time of exceeded deviations. The control and grid connectivity of the wind turbine can be adjusted from remote utilizing a laptop. This wind turbine model is protected from lightening and over voltage.
