Dual-Axis Tracking System of PV Trackers Eliminates Farm Utility Bills

PV Trackers, Inc. has reported that the energy produced from its solar power system used by citrus fruit company Venida Packing situated in Visalia, California, has eliminated the entire utility bill of Venida Packing. The solar system at Venida Packing has been operating continuously since its installation in the third quarter of 2009 and PV Trackers had recently completed a review of the same.

Chris Tantau, the operations manager at Venida Packing, commented that the PV Tracker solar system was chosen for the company’s 622 kW dual-axis, 114 tracker solar power plant because of the solar system’s advanced design, high-quality construction and low-cost to maintain and operate. He also added that the trackers have been designed and produced in the U.S.

PV Trackers (PVT) has the capacity to produce the equivalent power of a fixed-tilt rack, having been enabled with 28% fewer panels, while reducing dramatically the initial system costs. The PVT often out-performs the estimates. When targeting an installed output, PV Trackers will out-produce single-axis trackers by 15-20% and fixed-tilt racks by 30-45%.

PV Trackers offers installation assistance, remote site monitoring, project design services and security using plant controls that are web based. PV Trackers offers an ideal solution for utility-scale and ground-mounted commercial solar projects.
