REpower 6M Offshore Wind Turbine from REpower Systems

REpower Systems offers the 6M Offshore wind turbine. This wind turbine is specially designed to meet the tough offshore requirements and produces a maximum power of 6150 kW. The rotor hub of this model comes with a 126 m diameter rotor covering a swept area of 12,469 m².

The rotor hub incorporates a power flow optimized design for maximum integration of the pitch drives and the big sized spinner offers increased and reliable access to the hub in all weather conditions. This wind turbine starts rotating at 3.5 m/s wind speed, produces its optimum power at 14 m/s wind speed and ceases its power operations when the wind speed exceeds 30 m/s. The 6M offshore wind turbine incorporates double mounted distributed drive train, patented CARB bearing, fixed circular roller bearing and a maximum adjusted bearing housing. For increasing the service life of the bearings the bearings are automatically lubricated.

The rotor shaft of this wind turbine is molded for maximum power flow. The load optimized rotor blades of this wind turbine are made of glass reinforced plastic, measures 61.5 m in length and incorporate multi receptor system for lightening protection. The generator incorporated in the wind turbine has a stable frame construction for reduced oscillation and vibration. The speed of this generator is optimized for increased power production. The generator is completely covered for protection and comes with water and air heat exchanger. The 6M Offshore wind turbine offered by REpower Systems incorporates a three stage planetary helical gear system with two planetary gears and a single helical gear. Efficient oil cooling system keeps the gears of the turbine cool and the three stage oil filtering system maintains the quality of the oil used. The structure of the gear system allows noiseless working.

The electrical pitch system incorporated in the wind turbine is maintenance free and wields control on individual blades for high safety. The two independent measurement systems installed in the pitch system sense the changes in blade angles for controlling. This system incorporates permanently lubricated large sized blade bearings for continuous lubrication. The azimuth and yaw system of this wind turbine incorporates outside geared four point bearing driven through bigger shaped gear motors, and hydraulic holding brakes with hydraulic pressure tank. The low resistance of the four-point bearing utilized in the yaw system allows minimum loading of the drives. This lightening protected wind turbine incorporates an on board crane for easy maintenance.
