SoloPower Unveils Revolutionary CIGS Solar PV Modules

SoloPower, a global major in the manufacture of thin-film, flexible solar PV modules and cells, has launched its SFX1-i photovoltaic module. This is a flexible, lightweight, thin-film photovoltaic module based on CIGS. The new solar PV module will be displayed during the InterSolar 2010 event in San Francisco, California.

SoloPower manufactures high-power PV modules by making use of a roll-to-roll, low-cost electroplating process. This unique process provides cost advantages such as material utilization, high line throughput, low capital expenditures and overall cost advantages. An ideal value proposition is created by a combination of optimized product design and low-cost structure.

The CEO of SoloPower Tim Harris mentioned that a true breakthrough has been achieved in the solar industry by CIGS modules. The SFX1-i3 solar module can be optimized for industrial and commercial roofs.
