Renewvia Energy Corporation and Aha Macav Power Services Accomplishes Installation of Fort Mojave Indian Reservation Solar Test Facility

Renewvia Energy Corporation engaged in developing, building and operating central and disseminated type of solar power systems has begun its 4kW solar power production test facility.

The facility situated on the Fort Mojave Indian Reservation that covers the areas in Nevada, Arizona and California. Renewvia has accomplished this facility with the collaboration of Aha Macav Power Services and Clean Energy Capital.

Although the test facility is primarily intended for stockpiling data on the application of new thin-film solar modules offered by Sharp Solar, it also supplies the generated power for the use of Fort Mojave Indian Tribe through the AMPS electrical grid to solar power the reservation area. On completion of the test, the partnership will result in the development of one of the leading thin film photovoltaic solar farms in the United States.

While turning on the system, functioning at the test site, Renewvia Energies President Marion Smith explained how the currently installed solar modules are suitable for use in the soaring temperature levels of the Arizona desert. He expressed his happiness about the installed system’s performance, and added that the modules produced electricity under 115 degrees temperature and supplied it to the power grid of AMPS.

AMPS General Manager Bill Cyr said that though Renewvia united with AMPS for building a module testing facility, the company is concurrently trying to finalize a partnership agreement with Fort Mojave Indian Tribe to build a 24.4 MW solar farm at a capital cost of $80 million, and the current solar power testing is a right step in the planned direction.

Clean Energy capitals Managing Director David M. Moor clarified how the current testing was facilitated by Clean energy and further explained that on completion of the project, the proposed solar power generating facility will successfully meet the clean energy generation requirement of the Indian Tribe and strengthen their land management aims.
