Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd., a company engaged in manufacturing solar products with applications in various sectors, has concurred with Azure Power, an independent solar power producing company from India.
As per the clauses of the agreement Azure Power, will plan, develop and finance the solar plants that it has planned, in several states in India and to install thousands of 280 W crystalline silicon solar panels produced by Suntech Industry, in various locations for producing solar power that matches the utility scale requirements. The first phase of the project, currently under development is expected to be fully operational by early 2011.
While announcing the signing of agreement Mr.Inderpreet Wadhwa, CEO, said that his company is thrilled to work with Suntech, a globally known solar manufacturing company and added that the superior crystalline silicon solar modules produced by Suntech will enable Azure to setup large scale solar power projects, and explained the aim of the company to achieve grid parity in solar power generation. James Hu, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, President for Suntech, expressed his excitement about the agreement and in contributing to the power growth of the country.
