Renewable Social Benefit Funds (RSB Funds), a company engaged in offering renewable energy products, has announced its partnership with Jeffco Public Schools to provide solar energy to 30 schools located in the neighborhood.
This partnership is in sequence of a recently passed legislation of Colorado that makes it mandatory to use a minimum of 30% electricity generated by renewable energy sources by the year 2020.
The signed agreement between RSB Funds and Jeffco will allow the consumers to reduce spending on overheads and use electricity under locked and fixed power tariffs for a number of years and does not require any initial investments due to receiving federal and state incentives and Xcell incentives for renewable energy production. The installation is expected to save over $1 million spending on energy costs for about 20 years for the tax payers living in Jefferson County. The panels utilized in the solar project are expected to produce enough power to meet 50% power requirement of each elementary school covered. Also the installation will benefit the students to learn about renewable solar power and other energy saving measures from their teachers.
For the purpose of completing the project, Renewable Social Benefit Funds has entered in to partnership with companies such as Golden Power Partners, Martifer Solar and Tecta America Colorado to provide high power producing solar systems to the Jeffco Public Schools covered under the scheme.
