Camco Purchases Emission Reductions Projects from GHGS

Camco International Limited, a developer of clean energy and emission reductions projects, has purchased a portfolio of projects from GHGS (Greenhouse Gas Services). These projects aim at reducing emissions.

The projects purchased include reductions from landfill gas projects and agricultural waste-to-energy installations; it is expected that they will lead to reductions of emissions in over 100,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. Furthermore, Camco International has received rights to surplus emission reduction projects.

This acquisition expands the presence of Camco International as a top-ranking developer in the sector of agricultural waste-to-energy in the U.S. and a top-ranking offsets provider from livestock projects by means of the Climate Action Reserve (CAR). Currently, Camco International has livestock projects expected to deliver more than 90,000 CRTs annually registered with CAR. The company intends to register additional projects during the later half of 2010.
