SCHOTT Solar Launches Biggest Solar Array in New Mexico’s Bell HQ

SCHOTT Solar PV, Inc., Affordable Solar Group LLC and VE Group LLC have unveiled the largest solar array with 1.1 MW capacity on The Bell Group’s headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The solar array is located strategically in the parking structure of the headquarters. This solar project makes use of more than 5,000 solar modules that are locally made.

The solar installation covers a parking area of 5 acres and will be generating in excess of 1,600,000 kWh of electricity annually, which will be enough for meeting 80% of the electricity needs of The Bell Group. The clean energy thus generated will be avoiding CO2 emissions to the extent of 1,125 tons annually.

The solar structure would be providing shaded parking for visitors as well as employee vehicles under the hot sun of New Mexico. This solar project has provided clean jobs in significant numbers in the region of Albuquerque by way of utilizing the locally available subcontractors, contractors and manufacturers from various trades.
