AEG Power Solutions, a provider of power conversion and control products and Electrotherm a manufacturer of steel structures for solar plants and a provider of turnkey solutions for PV solar installations, have jointly signed an accord to formulate the growth of solar business in India. They have a set a goal of reaching 100 MW installations within a period of 36 months.
Electrotherm, which has presence all over India will offer the required access for the products and will also utilize its industrial exposure for the betterment of the partnership. The company will play the role of EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) for the acquired projects which will be jointly developed by the partnership. Electrotherm will also offer its MV transformers along with other structural components and wiring required for the installation. AEG PS will extend its technical know-how needed for the solar PV market. The company will also provide its engineering services and offer key parts such as solar inverters, equipments required for measuring, supervising and operating the installations in addition to combiner boxes required for the installation. AEG Power has unveiled its plans to start a manufacturing unit for the production of inverters at its factory in Bangalore in 2011. The factory currently manufactures power supply equipment for telecommunication facilities.
Enrique de la Cruz, AEG Power Solutions, Vice President of the Solar Division explained about the anticipated growth of the Indian solar market with nearly 1500 MW capability in the next few years. He expressed his happiness to have a strategic partnership with Electrotherm a company with sound industrial experience. Siddharth Bhandari, Electrotherm’s Renewable Energy Division’s Director said that his company respects the technical expertise of AEG power in the solar market and expressed his hope for successful completion of a number of Photovoltaic EPC projects in India.
