Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA has declared the introduction of a patented and total DC photovoltaic solution called Diamond Mount into the solar market of North America.
The PV solution includes PV modules manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric, a P2 designed ballasted racking system and other system components which includes the combiner box. The Diamond Mount system incorporates pre-designed mechanical and electrical configurations and all the components utilized in the system are configured to work synchronously to achieve maximum power output.
The Diamond Mount solution is offered in 500 kW, 250 kW and 100 kW blocks for convenient modification in project sizes from 100 kW to 100 MW. The DC solution can be used for both ground-mounted and roof-mounted projects and can be governed in any tilt angle to increase power production. The mounting system of the solution is constructed by P2 an integrated solar solutions providing company located in Livermore California. The Diamond Mount solution incorporates higher level of strength-to-weight ratio, utilizing less quantity of aluminum and weighs lesser than most of the conventionally utilized mounting systems and does not move and go deep into the installed ground.
Gina Heng, Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA’s General Manager of its photovoltaic division, said that the new Diamond Mount provides a quicker and cost-effective remedy for most of the problems of the large scale solar PV projects. Paul Townsend, P2 Company’s President said that the mounting system underwent a range of tests such as proof-load testing and wind tunnel testing to check the strength of the design. He added that they have brought in a quality product by improving its current mounting construction to bring out a quality product that will enable quicker installation.
