Evergreen Solar Receives MCS Certification for its Solar Panels in the UK

Evergreen Solar declared that it has received the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) certificate from the British Board of Agreement in the UK, for its String Ribbon solar panels incorporated with its patented technology. The certification will qualify the ES-A series panels manufactured by the company, for use in solar projects funded by the Renewable Cash-back Scheme in the UK.

The Renewables Cash-back Scheme has been functioning in the UK from April 2010. The scheme encourages the households and communities to generate power from low carbon resources including solar panels and pays for the power produced even if it is utilized for their own use. It made it obligatory for those who want to get reimbursement of costs from the scheme to install MCS certified solar panels by MCS certified solar installers. Peter Rusch, the company’s Vice President of Sales for Europe, Middle East and  Africa called the MCS certification process a proof for the craftsmanship and worth of the solar panels produced by the company that deliver more power and creates least environmental impact. He added that the IEC 61701 salt mist certification received by the ES-A series solar panels makes them first choice of use in costal locations.

The internationally acclaimed MCS certification is issued after a rigorous process of testing the quality and reliability of the products. The testing process includes assessment of production process, use of materials for the production and quality of training imparted to staff engaged in the production process.
