The names of Zlataritsa and Samovodene villages in Bulgaria have become known to the renewable energy circles after the formal launch of the solar photovoltaic projects this week. The 45 MW project considered as one among the largest in the European Union and the biggest in Bulgaria will have 25 MW and 20 MW power generating facilities.
The project is the result of a partnership accord between NEOptions (New Energy Options), a California-based renewable energy company, Bulgarian Development Collaborative and SDN, a South Korean company engaged in the production of solar modules, power generators and marine propellers. NEOptions has lent its in-depth expertise in proposing the projects by preparing the description of the project, required project materials and the required initial engineering to draw the attention of the prospective investors for the project. NEOptions, which had earlier worked with SDN for nearly three years, has provided the details of the project to SDN to bring it in as partner for the project. Bulgarian Development Collaborative played its part in the selection of site, in acquiring the land for the project and in getting the licenses, permits and other interconnection documents required for the proposed turnkey type of project.
NEOptions President, Angelina Galiteva, said that building a project of such magnitude in countries such as Bulgaria, which has no experience or record for building such projects, is a complex task and it requires a good amount of effort to bring in the right type of partnership and the required infrastructure for the success of the project.
