The government has plans to introduce 20 such carts to cater to the needs of the tourists who visit the beaches in Goa, India.

According to Sankalp Amonkar, Chairman of the GSHCL, the proposed carts to be introduced for the first time in India will be powered utilizing solar energy. He unveiled his plans to involve the locals in the project. He clarified that the government has already bought one such cart and it is being deployed at Panaji beach for assessing its performance. He indicated that the other solar carts will be put into service at the end of the year.

According to Orlando Rodrigues, the Managing Director of the Corporation,  the solar carts will be equipped with facilities to reduce the inside temperature of the vegetable and fruits rack by 20% to increase the shell life of the products.
