CJP to Host the GAWI11 in India

The Centre for Jatropha Promotion & Biodiesel (CJP) is ready to host the Global Algae Biodiesel World India Program 2011 in India on the 5th and the 6th of April 2011, focusing on the total production of algae right from the laboratory to the scale.

They would cover selected topics to explain the Biology, Marketing, Engineering and Financial facets of commercialization of algae. CJP is known to be a significant platform for creative exchanges among the Commercial, Academic and Investment Communities on non edible biodiesel crops.

The CJP is the only R&D organization that organizes training for all the stakeholders to understand, act, learn and implement the non-food biodiesel plans from the base level to biodiesel production in a very efficient way. Algae promises to be one feedstock with a lot of potential for future production of biodiesel. Its advantages are manifold and include its extensive availability, reduced needs for cultivated lands for producing biodiesel; and higher oil yields. Algae as a future fuel source can be said to be amazing. Economical production of biodiesel would be possible as some types of algae yield as much as 50% oil. Theory indicates that per acre almost 1000 to 20,000 gallons of oil could be generated, contingent on the strain of algae used, in contrast to other agricultural based biofuels.

The Global Algae World India 11 (GAWI11) will showcase the latest global research and technology practices on biodiesel from algae. Specialists and authorities on algae would participate and disclose the most recent developments in algae research, dewatering, harvesting, modification techniques. It will also give the investors, biodiesel companies, entrepreneurs, academia, renewable fuel experts and associates to discuss their experiences and gain insights into latest photo bioreactor technologies, algae mass production systems, and other vital areas of the Algae Biodiesel sector. The program also includes a live demonstration on algae harvesting. According to CJP’s Director (Training), S.S. Mishra, CJP would as a single platform to bring together the best experts to analyze and investigate both the present and the future of algae from an economical and technological standpoint. He further mentioned that the program would enrich the participants’ lives with insights into the amazing algae aviation fuel.
