Net Zero Green Home Sports SCHOTT Solar PV Panels

The BuiltSmart Resource Center has become one of the energy conserving homes in Texas by obtaining Home Energy Rating System (HERS) score of negative three. Earlier, the company has achieved Build San Antonio Green’s patented Level 3 Solar Home certification when it completed the Curtis & Laura model home in December 2010.

Following the trail of its earlier achievements, BuiltSmart has constructed  its new Show Home and Resource Center in San Antonio. The company has achieved the Net Zero Green Home status for its resource center backed by its own research to achieve energy efficiency by reducing the energy costs and by offering those living in the home, a congenial living milieu. The research center boasts an open floor plan designed by MSA Architecture, a San Antonio company.

The building incorporates SCHOTT Solar manufactured 11.28 kW solar photovoltaic system to meet the power requirement of the building. The solar system was erected by BuiltSmart Resources. The building also a features a 30,000 gallon rainwater harvesting system to store the rainwater for the domestic and landscape use of the construction.
