Suntech Commences Second Shift at its Arizona Solar Panel Production Plant

Suntech Power Holdings, a manufacturer of solar panels for residential, commercial, industrial, and utility applications, declared that it has commenced the working of second production shift at its newly installed solar panel production facility in Goodyear, Arizona.

The construction facility occupies over 117,000 square foot area and incorporates fully-automated production and product testing equipment. The facility presently manufactures SunTech 280 W solar panels, which are utilized in commercial and utility-level electric power production. The new latest production facility will now work up to sixteen hours a day and will employ 78 employees for the purpose. Earlier, when the factory started its operations in October 2010 it was running for eight hours and deployed 40 employees.

The company has plans to reach 50 MW yearly production capabilities in the middle of 2011 by employing around 150 people at the end of 2011. The company has plans to augment its production capability of its Arizona plant to over 100 MW within the next few years to meet the growing demand for the products all over America
