Nordex USA, supplier of large-scale wind turbines based in Hamburg, has secured a new order from CG Power Solutions USA to supply 18 N100 2.5 MW wind turbines for a 45 MW wind power project located in Power County, Idaho.

CG Power Solutions USA is a subsidiary of India-based power distribution and transmission company, Crompton Greaves.

This is Nordex’s third order since the commencement of operations of its new nacelle manufacturing facility in Jonesboro, Arkansas in October 2010. CG Power Solutions has issued the order because the wind turbines are produced in the local facility, as the company is dedicated to optimizing local content.

Under the terms of the contract, Nordex will provide delivery, deployment and testing of the wind turbines as well as maintenance services. This is CG’s first wind power project in the US and it has finished the grid interconnection for about 25% of all of its wind power deployed in the US.

The Power County project site is ready for construction and Nordex will commence delivery of the wind turbines during mid of May 2011. The project is slated for completion by September 2011.
