Schott Solar Receives 20 MW Order for Thin Film Solar Modules from an Indian Company

Schott Solar, a fully owned subsidiary of Schott, a German-based producer of solar modules and components, declared that it has received a major order for its thin-film technology solar modules from Premier Solar Systems, an India-based company.

Premier Solar Systems, a Hyderabad, India-based company, has placed an order with Schott Solar to supply 200,000 thin film solar photovoltaic modules capable of generating 20 MW clean electric power. According to Schott Solar, this is the largest order for its solar module production unit in Asia and a major agreement from a single customer for its thin-film solar modules.

Schott solar will supply 10 MW worth of modules during the current year and supply the rest of modules in 2012. Financial details of the contract are not available.
