Arizona Public Service Invests in Solar PV Projects

Research and Markets have released a new report titled “Arizona Public Service's Investment in Solar PV Projects- A Strategic Investment for Expanding its Renewable Portfolio”.

An amount of $296 million has been invested by Arizona Public Service (APS) in Hyder Solar PV (17 MW) and Chino Valley Projects (20MW) in Arizona. These projects belonged to the AZ Sun Program created by APS. The company has plans to develop 100 MW PV power plants, wherein SunEdison is to develop the plants and APS would take on the ownership of these plants after they have been completed. By 2011, the Hyder Project would be completed and operational while the Chino Valley Project is expected to start functioning by 2012. The investment in solar projects in Arizona is mainly due to the focus and importance APS places on developing a clean energy portfolio.
