Saunders added that the company’s aim was to develop solar grade glass at the facility along with the solar cells. The company has also planned and proposed three public private alliances, which would lead to profit sharing with the township. Amy Gatto, the Mayor was all praise for the proposal, which would bring in new jobs to the residents.
Saunders further disclosed that the site could also work as a hub for other international companies to liaise with while entering the US solar market. According to him, there were umpteen number of financial investors who were waiting to invest in the country. Saunders also disclosed that the factory would give rise to 175 jobs when it starts operations. Roger Silva, a committee man has commented that this proposal could turn out to be very beneficial to the township, being an alternative to the Casino industry.
