WindTamer, a company that develops and produces wind turbines, solar power systems and power storage and management equipment for generating renewable energy, has declared the receipt of an order from PGM.
The order, worth around $319,000, was received by WindTamer for the supply of its exclusive Power on Demand clean energy storage and management system to PGM.
The patent-pending Power on Demand system is formulated to use the power produced by, solar PV systems, wind turbines, or the grid along with a battery system with a customized design. The proprietary Power on Demand system utilizes an exclusive smart monitoring technology that supervises power consumption in real time to cut down the power charges associated with peak hour power demand, thus reducing the costs of utilizing commercial power. The incorporated smart monitoring technology regulates usage and continuously holds the power demand on the grid within optimal limits to produce a uniform power demand and extends the life of the battery.
According to Mark Matthews, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at WindTamer, the peak power demand charges normally constitute 30-70% of a commercial type of power bill. He mentioned that Power on Demand is formulated to cut down the sudden surges in electricity demand. He also added that Power on Demand has a quicker pay back period than many other independent clean energy systems available.
