Donauer Solartechnik has reported that its flat roof and flat roof duplex mounting frames, which earned the LGA certification through testing/structural type analysis conducted by the LGA Test Office for Structural Analysis, has reached 2.5 MWp in sales in the first half of this year.
Donauer Solartechnik’s Mounting Frame Product Manager stated that the LGA certification to the FISCHER Licht & Metall manufacturer is the key rationale for the encouraging developments on the markets. The company’s customers recognize the protection this offers with respect to insurance companies, assessors and test centers. Type tests S-R 100497 and S-R 090510 eliminates the necessity to conduct a second structural investigation by the building control authorities, thus significantly accelerating the approval process for public sector construction projects.
Non-certified flat-roof systems are still very common even though many installers know about the associated risk and legal liability. Wind tunnel testing has been mentioned in the advertising material of most installers. However, this is not sufficient without independent stability measurements.
The LGA Test Office for Structural Analysis has independently tested and confirmed the stability of the Donauer flat roof and flat roof duplex systems in type testing. The LGA Test Office for Structural Analysis conducts legally stringent tests for this certification, while fine print of most competing systems features disclaimers. This provides a solid legal basis to installers in insurance claims and sound legal protection to system owners.
