Daegu has hosted IGEEC since 2004 to promote renewable energy industry develop and boost export. Now, the exhibition grew to be the top 10th global exhibition.
And it will be held from coming April 3rd to 5th at EXCO with about 1,000 booths organized by 321 companies from 25 countries, celebrating the 10th anniversary.
Daegu has participated in the exhibition as the world solar city since 2000. In 2004, it co-hosted the first world solar city conference and IGEEC specializing in renewable energy.
This exhibition will provide a competitive stage for international companies which want to preoccupy Korea and Asia market where 'Low-carbon, Green Growth' is a national vision and all the domestic companies which want to enter global market to show off their cutting-edge latest products and technology.
The main participated companies are global companies such as SIEMENS(German), centrotherm(German), KACO New Energy(German), SMA(German), ASYS(German), SCHMID(German), Jonas & Redmann(German), Astronergy(China), Juli(China), Multi Contact(Switzerland). Also, Korean companies including DSME, Hyundai Motors, LS Industrial System, Daesung Group, STX Solar, POSCO Energy, Hanwha TechM , SFC, KD Power will participate in the exhibition showing off the world best green energy technology and products.
Since 2006, more foreign companies have enrolled in the exhibition every year. And previously participated companies also have grown with time. As a renewable energy exhibition, it's the biggest in Korea. Additionally, PHOTON-International which is the world prestigious solar energy journal selected it as one of the top 10 global exhibition, positioning among Asian three biggest exhibitions.
As it celebrates the 10th anniversary, The International Green Energy Expos and Conference was revived as a true renewable exhibition after widening their specialization to three energy sources such as PV Korea, Wind Power Korea and Fuel Cell Korea instead of solely on solar energy.
Even though the state of solar power energy market is bleak, more and more solar energy generators are built. Especially, continuous increase of inverter installment reflects the trend. In Daegu, will there be a fierce competition of a lot of foreign(Refusol) and domestic(LS Industrial System and DASS Tech) companies led by global top companies such as SMA and KACO New Energy. Also, confrontation between foreign and domestic companies is in equipment field.
Hanwha TechM of Hanwha Group will participate in IGEEC with a bigger booth compared to last year. As leading companies in Korea, SJ Inno Tech running a metallization full line like a screen wafer printer and Avaco producing solar sputters will be at the 10th IGEEC. Against them, global solar energy equipment companies such as centrotherm Photovoltaic, Rena, ASYS and newly participated SCHMID, Multi contact will show there products.
Since 2010, wind power energy has got a lot of attention. Displayed by Siemens, DSME and Hyundai Heavy Industries, the exhibition is expected to be comparable to the solar energy exhibition. Particularly, good news like onshore wind farm deregulation and establishment of SPC(Special Purpose Company) get related companies pay attention. Also, Chadbourne & Parke LLP which is a Washington D.C-based international law firm and has a long history of 170 years sent three attorneys. They came to provide detailed strategies for a market expansion in the U.S. and Latin American that are recently emerging as a main target. And business meeting with domestic major companies is also planned.
'FC Korea' is planned to have a separate section for the first time. In the FC Korea cornet, there will be special display zones for fuel cell test-bed business by Postech and Daegyeong Leading Industry Development For Economic Region. This year, six companies are co-hosted for the special zone and show off their prototype products, giving a chance to expect the future of fuel cell industry. And, Hyundai Motor, the first company starting mass-production of FCEV are to display Tucson ix and 100kw fuel cell system.
During the exhibition, there will be International Green Energy Business Conference that has been chosen as for consecutively 4 years since 2010 by Korea Tourism Organization. And it is expected to provide presentations on over 200 topics during 23 seminars for professionals where we can meet the past, the present and the future of renewable energy policy, technology and industry.
As for 'Export Consultation' run by KITA(Korea International Trade Association), Gyeongbuk Techno Park and EXCO, 32 foreign buyers of 24 companies from 9 countries. KITA invited global top 10 solar energy companies including Solar World(German), Motech Industries(Taiwan), Gintech Energy Corporation and other internationally well-known firms such as the world best China-based Guqngzhou Ruxing Technology Development and South Africa-based Mega Africa Holdings which is promoting a national project, building power generation plants.
Also, EPC(Engineering, Procurement & Construction) companies in solar energy industry such as Corporate Energy Solutions, Photovol-Tec from the U.S., Denso, Unix from Japan which are under the procedure of big-scale projects related with solar energy are invited to have 1 on 1 special consultation with domestic companies.
