Orbital Technical Solutions Acquisition by SSOE Group Highlights its Growth in the Power Industry

Orbital Technical Solutions, known for its work in the power industry and its experience in landfill gas, waste energy and biomass projects, has been acquired by SSOE Group, a global EPCM firm. Tony Damon, CEO of SSOE Group, referred to the acquisition as further evidence highlighting the growth of the company in the power industry.

Orbital Technical Solutions, according to Damon, will enable the company to expand its capabilities in the power market. The company is expecting to provide greater benefits to its own clients and also to the clients of Orbital Technical Solutions.

SSOE holds the second rank among all the Industrial Design firms. The additional experts will enable SSOE to provide its current power industry clients with strong in-house expertise resulting in increased services and technical resources. The current power industry clients include American Municipal Power and its 129 municipal utility members.

Damon stated that OTS team will be bringing its expertise in the examination of the economics and the life cycle costs of renewable and traditional energy options. This analysis is used for various purposes that include power generation for utility clients and permitting for the usage of renewable and traditional fuel boilers, transmission design systems, high voltage substation, chilled water and utility infrastructure systems and university and industrial sized boilers.

Orbital Technical Solutions will become a part of the industrial group of SSOE and the daily operations of the group will be headed by Ron Lutwen, a 26 year veteran of Orbital Technical Solutions. Lutwen remarked that both Orbital Technical Solutions and SSOE will together add more expertise to the company’s existing power industry clients and attract new clients.
