Phase II of 1-MW Solar Farm Hufingen GmBH Project in Germany Completed by Day4 Energy

Day4 Energy Inc. announced that it has completed Phase II of 1-MW Solar Farm Hufingen GmBH Project in Germany. Day4 Energy is a leading supplier of cost-effective and high performance solar electric solutions.

This solar project, which was financed by Umweltbank AG, Nurnberg, Germany, was developed in two phases. The first phase of the project comprising 500 kW was completed in the early part of the year 2009 and the second phase of the project with an additional capacity of 450 kW was completed in December 2009.

Day4 Systems GmbH, a wholly owned German subsidiary of Day4 Energy Inc., Burnaby, Canada was responsible for the entire project including its design and electrical planning. BES GmbH had carried out the actual installation of the system.

The site that was used for the construction of the project was previously used as landfill. Besides earning revenue from the German Government's photovoltaic feed-in-tariff, this roof-mounted system reduces the amount of potentially contaminated water that leaves the landfill site by redirecting rain water away the site.

George Rubin, president of Day4 Energy, said that this project demonstrates the company’s efforts to meet its customer’s requirements by supplying photovoltaic solutions.
