REpower Systems Signs Agreements with Akuo Energy to Supply 25 Wind Turbines

REpower Systems AG has signed three agreements with Akuo Energy SAS, a leading developer of renewable energy projects throughout the world, for the supply of 25 wind turbines with a total generating capacity of 51.25 MW. Suzlon Energy Limited owns 90.71% stake in REpower Systems. The REpower MM92 wind turbine has a rated power of 2.05 MW and the hub height of the turbine is 100 meters. The 25 wind turbines are meant for three wind farms, Saint-Germainmont, Sevigny Waleppe, and Fontaine Macon, located in the northeast of France.

REpower Systems AG French subsidiary, REpower S.A.S will be executing all the three projects. In addition to delivering and commissioning of the wind turbines, the company will also be responsible for servicing these turbines. CEO of REpower Systems AG, Per Hornung Pedersen, said that the company has already commissioned many wind projects in the Champagne-Ardennes region, where these three projects are to come up. Pedersen further said the company is delighted to partner with Akuo Energy for the first time and was confident that these agreements will lead to a global partnership between the companies.

Chairman and Managing Director of Suzlon Energy Limited, Tulsi Tanti, commenting on the order said the French market is important for players in the wind industry and REpower is an important and strong player in the country. Tanti further said the company is delighted with the new orders from Akuo and was confident of a long-term relationship with the company.
