The Light Thru Modules

Suntech also provides double insulated units as and when required. The solar cells used are available in optional colors and offered in monocrystalline or polycrystalline varieties with thicknesses of 125 and 156 mm, respectively. The cells are provided with EVA- or PVB-type encapsulation. To avoid higher transparency a minimum of 4 mm spacing is maintained between solar cells. The junction box for the power connections can be mounted at the back or at the edge of the glass.

The integrated glazing systems from Suntech are available with unlimited number of likely Light Thru designs with choice of combinations in the product features such as width, length, number of solar cells, cell spacing, Pmax (W), percentage of transparency, Vpm (V), Voc (V), Ipm (A), Isc (A), bearable wind or snow load.

The Light Thru modules manufactured by Suntech have crystalline solar cells  sandwiched between two sheets of glass with enough space left between the cells to let the light pass through. These modules are used by architects in the designing of atria, solar canopies, vertical facades and skylights.
