US-based Central Concrete will supply its low-CO2 concrete for the 49er stadium in San Francisco. As per the contract Central Concrete will supply 80,000 cu.yd of concrete for the complete structure of the stadium and the auger cast piles. The concrete mixes chosen for the project will reduce the total carbon footprint by 23 million pounds.

The Mass Transportation Authority (MTA) today unveiled its new hydrogen fuel cell bus and opened their alternative fuel facility in Grand Blanc Township. The MTA is the first transportation agency in the Midwest with a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. The vehicles will be stored at the Grand Blanc Service Center and Alternative Fuel Facility location.
Researchers at the University of York will take part in a new research and development project called the Climate Change Impacts on Ecosystem Services and Food Security in Eastern Africa (CHIESA) in order to explore the effects of climate change in Jimma Highlands in Ethiopia, Taita Hills in Kenya, and Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
