Hybrid 2014 Honda CR-Z with Manual Transmission Succeeds Against Competition

When hybrid vehicles were first released, consumers weren't as receptive to adopting the fuel saving technology as manufacturers originally hoped. While the vehicles offered superior efficiency, their lack of power didn't exactly make them fun to drive. That fact soon changed once Honda unleashed their CR-Z back in 2010. The two-passenger hatchback was unlike any hybrid on the market, which in and of itself, helped the hybrid to succeed against comparable competitors.

Algonquin Power to Acquire Remaining 40% of 400 MW US Wind Power Portfolio from Gamesa

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. ("APUC") today announced that a subsidiary of APUC's renewable power generation business Algonquin Power Co. ("APCo") has entered into an agreement to acquire the remaining 40% of the 400 MW wind power portfolio (the "Projects") in the United States from Gamesa Wind US, LLC ("Gamesa") for total consideration of approximately US$117 million.

Fortum Commissions New Bio-Oil Plant in Joensuu, Finland

Fortum’s new bio-oil plant has been commissioned in Joensuu, Finland. Producing bio-oil from wood-based raw materials, the plant is the first of its kind in the world on an industrial scale. The bio-oil plant is unique in that it has been integrated with Fortum’s Joensuu combined heat and power plant.
