Visiontron Corp, the crowd control stanchion producer, has increased its green efficiency with the installation of its 50 kW solar power production system.
The newly installed solar system will enable the company to meet nearly 50% of its annual electricity usage.
The PV system installed at a cost of $250,000 has received the state and federal financial support and rebates. The system was installed by Majestic Son and Son; a Long Island based company with 30 years of exposure in solar power installations. The power produced from solar system is currently utilized to charge the batteries of the forklifts utilized in the company. The 220 panel PV solar system is the latest addition to the number of green facilities the company has added to its 40,000 sq foot production plant in the last few years. Earlier the company had restructured its facilities to use energy efficient lighting, and modernized its air system. For the purpose of cutting down the company’s heating requirements the company tuned and updated its installed HVAC units and incorporated thermal insulation for the windows. The company has deployed proper recycling processes to increase their eco friendly efforts and to lessen the impact on the environs.
Charles Hansen, Director of the Manufacturing unit of the company said that his company has witnessed double digit growth during the last six years except for the year 2009. He added that in their efforts to meet the growing demand for its products the company has also adopted green energy technologies for energy efficiency.
