Jonathan Weinzapfel, Evansville Mayor and Mitch Daniels the Indiana Governor have joined the officials from GBT in making the statement.
GBT will lease over 45,000 sq ft of area in the Evansville located Park 41 industrial park to have its engineering, design and operational facilities to produce blade molds and tooling as well as its consultancy offices. The facility will produce molds, tooling, prototypes and other components required for the manufacture of wind turbine blades. The facility will have space and tools to manufacture blades exceeding 100 meters in length.
GBT USA has plans to add an additional construction of over 200,000 sq ft. to house its full series rotor blades manufacturing facility. The proposed full scale manufacturing facility will have potentialities for advanced blade technologies to manufacture blades meant for offshore wind generation as well as specialized blades needed for medium and small wind usages. As there is an upswing for the wind power generation, the company will be ready for production soon.
The company also plans to have a developmental partnership with Plymouth, MA located Aeronautica Windpower. The partnership will manufacture prototype 26 meter blades, tooling and production molds for the AWP 54-750 wind turbine meant for distributed generated and community wind applications. GBT will manufacture the full production process for Aeronautica.
