Less than 3 months ahead of COP21 in Paris, H2air and Nordex have officially inaugurated on Friday the 11th of September the innovative wind farm Seine Rive Gauche Nord (SRN).
The project is located in Aube, Champagne-Ardenne, northern France and consists of 30 N100 wind turbines of 2.5MW each, with a total installed capacity of 75MW.
Commissioned in June 2015, the farm will produce 183 million kilowatt hours per year, providing enough green electricity for the annual needs of approximately 50.000 households.
SRN is a unique project in France, not only its size but also its innovative grid connection solution with its dedicated 90 kVA private transformer substation establishing a direct access to the high voltage RTE transmission network.
Starting on the Development Zone for Wind Energy (ZDE) of Seine Rive Gauche in 2008, H2air has initiated, developed and constructed a total of 107 MW on this zone in just seven years. 32 MW have been achieved on the southern site of the ZDE (SRS 2012) and the actual 75 MW on the northern site (SRN).
For SRN, H2air opted for the partnership with Nordex in development and construction. Both have set it up on a turnkey basis for the investor KGAL Investment Management. The maintenance is carried out by Nordex and the technical and administrative management of the wind farm is assured by H2air GT.
“The success of the emblematic SRN wind farm, proves that H2air and its team meet efficiently great challenges; due to strong commitment and solid expertise H2air is a reliable contributor for reaching both French and European targets in the development of renewable energy.” President, H2air Roy Mahfouz
Thanks to the contribution of the wind farm SRN, France has now achieved the installation of 10 000 MW of wind energy, a step forward in reaching the target fixed by the French energy transition law (Loi sur la transition energétique) adapted in July.
