The first electric vehicle, i-MiEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle) has been introduced in Canada at Waverley Mitsubishi. The first car was sold to a long-time fan of electric vehicles, Ross Redman. Mitsubishi has been working towards developing this electric vehicle for the past few years.

MTS has added two battery-powered, zero-emission Nissan Leaf electric cars to its line of eight eco-friendly vehicles. The Nissan Leaf received the recognition at the New York International Auto Show as being the 2011 World Car of the Year and is globally the first cost-effective, all-electric, mass market vehicle.
