The Fuel Cell Today annual Industry Review 2011 forecasts shipments in 2011 surpassing 285,000 units worldwide, growing by 25% compared with 2010. This continued success follows on from 40%growth between 2009 and 2010 . Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) lead 2011 unit shipments, accounting for over 95% of the total, and regionally North America dominates with a 50% share of total units.
The results of the study performed by the Boston University researchers published in the latest issue of Climate Change Letters journal indicates the imminent impacts of increase in the worldwide average temperature level and on the summer season temperature level in the U.S and other parts of the world.
