The Graphic Systems Division of FUJIFILM North America has decided to install Conergy’s PH 235P panels as an attempt to save expenses and support sustainability. The solar system has been installed at North Kansas City in the Missouri production unit. It was installed by Brightergy, a local clean-energy integrator.

Solar Electric Power Association Ranks PG+E as Top Electric Utility in US

The Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA), a non profit organization, has conducted a nationwide survey on solar power installations. Over 240 utilities participated in SEPA’s 2011 Utility Solar Rankings survey. Finally, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), a supplier of solar energy, has been selected as the topmost solar power provider for the year 2011.

Researchers Create Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells Using Carbon Nanotube Electrodes

A team of researchers from the Tsinghua University and Rice University has demonstrated that a combination of carbon nanotube forests and a sulfide-based electrolyte can be used to fabricate high-efficient dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC) at a cost lower than that of conventional silicon-based solar cells.

EMCORE Secures Solar Panel Supply Contract from Ball Aerospace + Technologies

EMCORE is a company that provides compound semiconductor-based components and subsystems for solar power and fiber optic sectors. The company has declared that it has been contracted by Ball Aerospace & Technologies (BATC) to provide solar panels for BATC’s new spacecraft. The contract value is approximately $6 million and the time period is around two years.
