Maine DEP Approves Expansion of First Wind’s Oakfield Wind Project

The independent wind energy company, First Wind reported that it has received approval for expanding its proposed Oakfield Wind project in Maine. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has granted the approval.

GE Energy to Provide Advanced Solar Equipment to Invenergy’s Grand Ridge Solar Project

GE Energy has inked a supply agreement with Invenergy for 23 MW advanced solar equipment. This equipment will be installed at Invenergy’s Grand Ridge solar project, which is being built in Illinois. Grand Ridge Solar will be the Midwest’s largest solar plant after its completion in mid-2012.

Juhl Wind Signs Development Services Agreement with Black Oak Wind Farm

Juhl Wind has inked a Development Services contract with the Black Oak Wind Farm, which is situated near Ithaca in New York. This wind project is a 15 to 30 MW facility and is expected to be operational during Q3 of 2013.

Exelon Wind, a division of Exelon Power, has announced that it has completed its Michigan Wind 2 Project. The project is a 90 MW wind project consisting of 50 turbines. It is also the company’s first wind project for commercial purposes and is located in Minden City, Michigan.
