The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) has certified the U.S. Atlantic Spiny Dogfish (Squalus acanthias) fishery as the first sustainable east coast shark fishery. The council granted the certification to the Sustainable Fisheries Association that consists of Eastern Fisheries, Marder Trawling, Seatrade International Company and Zeus Packing.

A team of researchers have found that carbon is being thaw released from Yedoma along the northernmost Siberian Arctic coast which stretches to around 7000 km. Increased warming of the Arctic climate may accelerate the collapse of the Yedoma leading to more CO2 being released. The Arctic region is experiencing double the climate warming which is considered as the global average.
Eco Wave Power, an international ocean wave energy company, has announced that the company is progressing towards a commercial scale wave energy power plant.
